A life where ideas can grow

Lena
Gierl

I develop things. Sometimes they become products. Sometimes projects. Sometimes words.

My story

HELLO, I AM LENA

Not everything was planned. But much of it began in the same place.

I wanted to work freely and do something that truly helps people. I tried different paths, left some behind and kept building others. So my projects also tell a story about my life: what matters to me and what I have learned along the way.

WHAT GROUNDS ME

Peace does not mean standing still.

My faith in God, inner peace and a thoughtful life have become part of who I am. They help me see more clearly — also in my work. I do not want to be known for being visible. I want to please God with what I do.

HOW I THINK

I think a lot. And deeply.

I think a lot, and deeply — about society, family, relationships, faith, health, about every part of life. That is part of who I am. I observe a lot and I analyze things. I am good at seeing patterns and turning them into something new — something that is good and that helps, something that moves us forward: as individuals, as families, as partners, as companies, as a society. That is my standard.

Moving forward does not always mean the progress the world is chasing right now. In some areas, for me it also means a step back: to the values, the faith and the traditions we once had as a society.

HOW ONE THING LED TO ANOTHER

My path was never a straight line.

    BEFORE IT ALL BEGAN

    Backpack & first book

Before Unconventional Media began, I traveled for a year with a backpack. I quit two study programs — one dual program and one online program — and instead wrote a book and published it myself. Then I started to work remotely and support small self-employed projects. I learned a lot, sold my book — and at some point, I could also offer that as a service.

  2. 01

    THE BEGINNING

    Unconventional Media

At first it was simply the home for my freelance work: marketing, project management, customer success, e-commerce, writing, web design and media buying. I did not know which projects would grow from it. Later, it became a small performance marketing agency — without me planning it. I worked very hard there and did a lot. But at some point, no new clients came anymore. Other agencies still got clients. For me, that was a sign that God wants to move me forward.

    A SEARCH FOR FREEDOM

    Relax Outside

At the same time, I started Relax Outside because I wanted more freedom and a life outside set paths. It never grew as much as I once hoped. But it brought people together through free ideas, conversations and clothing. Today it is part of my story, not a current offer.

  4. 03

    A NEW FOCUS

    Remote Bewerbungshelfer

The first clients came at the end of 2022. I had started the project while still running the agency. When the agency work no longer brought me joy or meaning, no new clients came anymore either. I left the agency behind and focused fully on helping people with their work and careers.

    WHAT GREW FROM IT

    Unconventional CV

From this work came the Academy, a way of thinking about meaningful work and, in 2026, our Living CV software. Today I want to help people see their skills and their own path more clearly — and help companies see more than job titles on a CV.

  6. 05

    WHAT I FEEL CALLED TO

    Personal sparring

In every company I worked in and with every client I served, the same thing happened: I ended up personally supporting people — automatically, almost by accident. Today I do it on purpose: my private sparring, a discreet 1:1 space for people with responsibility and impact. I feel called to this.

AND THEN THERE ARE WORDS

Some thoughts become essays.

I write about God, people, love, work, freedom and the questions in between. I am also working on my second book. The essays have their own, quieter place on this site.
